Laravel Football SDK

An unofficial Laravel SDK for the 5DollarFootballAPI.

Requirements

PHP 8.2+ (64-bit)
Laravel 12 or 13

Installation

composer require football-api/laravel-sdk

Add your API key to .env:

FOOTBALL_API_KEY=fb_live_your_key

Usage

use FootballApi\Facades\Football;

$live = Football::fixtures(status: 'live');

Configuration

Publish the config file if you need to change the defaults:

php artisan vendor:publish --tag=football-config

Config keys

config/football.php defines these keys:

api_key
base_url
timeout
cache.enabled
cache.store
cache.prefix
cache.ttl.* (countries, bookmakers, leagues, league, team)
retry.max_wait
retry.times

A 429 response sleeps and retries only when Retry-After is at most retry.max_wait seconds (default 2). Otherwise it throws RateLimitException immediately.

Each method calls one endpoint, relative to base_url:

Pagination

Paged methods return a Page. Call $page->next() to get the next page, or null when there are no more.

$page = Football::fixtures(status: 'live');

while ($page !== null) {
    foreach ($page->items as $fixture) {
        // ...
    }

    $page = $page->next();
}

Errors

Every failure throws a subclass of FootballException, so catching FootballException covers them all:

FootballException
AuthenticationException
PlanException
NotFoundException
InvalidRequestException
RateLimitException

A response that is missing expected data or has the wrong shape throws FootballException with the error code invalid_response.

Attribution

Free, Community, and Education public apps must attribute 5DollarFootballAPI in the app itself. This package does not add attribution for you.

Contributing

Development runs in Docker, so no local PHP or Composer is needed.
